Privacy is freedom, freedom from unwanted interference. We can do what we want, so long as it is within the privacy of our homes. This goes for personal space within homes. My room is not for you to enter, uninvited. Your things are not for me to use, without your permission.

and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. |
If you are going to overpower a child, you better have a good reason, and explain it all around. Even infants respond to eye contact and spoken communications. We would all be surprised by how early a child can understand what is spoken; far earlier than they can declare.
You can say to the child: "I will pick you up" or even "I will overpower you" before laying hands on their person. They have a right (see, written right there) to be informed as to what to expect when interference is imposed upon their person without their consent. |
