Amendment XIV:

This Amendment recognizes who are the citizens involved by this Constitution and Bill of Rights. Every person born or naturalized in the US is a citizen. There is no age limit on this.
The Human Standard is that from the moment of birth, a child is a person, a whole person, and is as involved in this United States Bill of Rights as any adult can be. The Human Standard is for every member of the family and circle of friends, no matter what age. The Human Standard is here when you embrace it. |
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; |
We violate human nature when we set up rules or routines that deprive others of the activities and privacy guaranteed them by the Human Standard. We also can violate our own social well being, by discounting our own unmet needs, saying oh, its just me. I don't matter. Yes you do.
The whole intention of the Human Standard is to empower us to do more than fail to prevent good activity. Turn it around. The Human Standard exhorts us to set up rules and routines to accelerate and enliven the activities that form the social immune system. The whole intention is to set up pro-active routines that instigate and support First Amendment activity, especially when those activities have been neglected by prior habit or prior harm. |

So much disrespectful behavior towards children is being passed off as normal or appropriate. Our cultural assumptions lean heavily into considering children to be somehow not really human beings. Instead they are treated as a sort of property, indentured servant, a project, a clean slate for somebody to write on, or a pet.
A child is a person. You started out like that person. If your circumstances affected you during your formative ways to train you to not expect basic human respect, you have become ripe for exploitation by the larger forces in society. We practice the Human Standard at home, to become ready to claim the full meaning of our Constitutional Rights in all of the institutions within the jurisdiction of the United States. |
